Westfälische Stahlgesellschaft group of companies has been affected by a cyber attack since June 9, 2024.

The extent of the impact on the company is currently being assessed. However, a large part of the IT systems are currently not available, so that restrictions in production as well as in incoming and outgoing goods are to be expected.

At the present time, it cannot be ruled out that personal data has also been compromised as a result of the cyber attack.

As part of the Westfälische Stahlgesellschaft group of companies, the Plettenberg drawing mill has an ultra-modern and wide range of production facilities for manufacturing bright steel. The use of state-of-the-art grinding and polishing operations enables achievement of the highest-quality surface finishes and narrowest dimensional tolerances.

Hot-rolled and forged bar steel

Hot-formed bar steel is usually produced by (longitudinal) rolling and forging. Our standard delivery and stock program for hot-rolled products includes round, flat and square bars as well as semi-finished products for forging in a wide variety of materials, dimensions and properties.

Our product range comprises a diversity of precision steel tubes and hollow sections with (circular) round, square or rectangular cross-sections. Depending on the area of application, they are used for conveying liquid or gaseous substances – for example as brake or hydraulic lines – or are used as structural elements such as (supporting) roller tubes or static bracing elements.

The Westfälische Stahlgesellschaft group of companies offers a wide range of high-performance production systems in the field of pre-processing. Our trading companies have state-of-the-art sawing capacities in the form of a large number of high-performance band and circular saws. We know virtually no limits where the economical production of sawn sections within the narrowest tolerances is concerned.

Metallography & materials testing

In Westfälische Stahlgesellschaft's own testing laboratory, numerous non-destructive and destructive material testing methods are used for incoming material testing, process testing and release testing. In addition to ultrasonic testing, geometric quantities are tested and hardness testing methods, computer-aided tensile tests and chemical analyses are carried out. In addition, material investigations are carried out with a scanning electron microscope.
